Alphonse Mucha

Alphonse Mucha (Ivancice July 24, 1860 – Prague July 14, 1939)

Alphonse Mucha was an influential Czech artist known for his beautiful posters, illustrations and decorative artwork. He made his name especially in Paris during the Belle Époque, a period of great cultural flowering in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1894, he created a poster featuring the famous actress “Sarah Bernhardt” , which made him known worldwide.

Mucha is a key figure within Art Nouveau, also known as Art Nouveau, and his style is characterized by flowing lines, ornamental patterns and an emphasis on female figures. His works are often colorful and incorporate elements of nature, such as flowers and leaves, elegantly incorporated into the composition.

In Goebel’s Artis Orbis series you will find beautiful objects in Mucha’s series.
